Russel Hayden is an award-winning architect and certified Passivhaus designer, specialising in small- to medium-sized projects.

In 2016, after 30 years in private practice in London, he completed a Passivhaus Designer course, and then designed, managed and renovated his own house in Manchester. He became a convert to Passivhaus, particularly after the experience of living in one.  The differences are significant, subtle and many.

HESKETHHAYDEN is a newly-formed practice that designs buildings and spaces that offer delight and enhance well-being. We can provide the full range of architectural services, from feasibility studies through to project delivery. We work collaboratively, particularly enjoying the team spirit that comes from sharing the common goal of a successful project.

Prior to this, Russel was an Associate and Project Leader at Nicholas Hare Architects LLP, London, where he gained extensive experience in commercial, education and master-planning projects as well as mentoring, project leading, technical and construction knowledge and practice management.  He founded and chaired the practice’s Environment Group.
