GIBSON’S ROAD REACHES PRACTICAL COMPLETION

Great news that our project on Gibsons Road has reached Practical Completion. This fine Victorian property in Stockport badly needed reorganising; the new single storey extension unlocked the ground floor arrangement and now provides open plan kitchen, dining and snug areas, all enjoying the garden and southern light through triple-glazed sliding doors.

In addition to the cedar clad extension, there have been alterations upstairs with the master bedroom extended above the kitchen and all 'wet' rooms being updated.

Externally Steve and his team have used materials with care to provide a great looking, crafted extension. Brickwork has been reclaimed and blended with Furness' Chapel Blend for a seamless look. Rough sawn square edge cedar boarding is supplied by Morgans in Hereford and carefully set out to full boards at openings and junctions.

Extra care has been taken at all junctions with specialist air-tightness tape reducing the risk of draughts and cold spots. Woodfibre insulation wraps the whole enclosure to minimise thermal bridges, with U-values well above the Building Regs standards.
